Have I mentioned yet how much I love Altenew stamps? They are unique, elegant and very stunning. Today's card showcases two of their sets. I'm entering it into their April Challenge: From Places Abroad, The Forbidden City, Beijing, China.
The card is based off of inspiration from the imperial palace, home of emperors and their families for 500 years. There are so many ornate details and rich jewel tones. You can't help but be inspired by it.
The Altenew sets complement the building very well. I used the Invisible Alpha set to stamp the sentiment. I took my cue from the red and gold border at the top of the building in the inspiration photo. I used Lacy Scrolls stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed in gold to mimic the ornate scrollwork in the photo. Of course, I added the deep blue and teal green colors, too.
I'm pleased with how it turned out. It's bright, bold and somewhat unconventional.
