Light It Up Blue Mini Hop

A few days ago, my sweet friend Veronica Zalis asked me to  participate in a mini blog hop marking the end of autism awareness month. Well, there was some confusion about what day of the week it was coupled with a huge project my son had for school, and I ended up missing the date. Although Veronica was completely understanding and gracious, I was not okay with missing this hop. As a mother of a child who has some special needs, using my talents to help raise awareness of autism, which affects one in 68 children, is an honor that I am not about to miss.

Without further adieu, I present to you the card I made for the Light It Up Blue for Autism Mini Blog Hop.

When I make a card, I need a starting point. To help me find inspiration, I turned to good old Pinterest. I typed in "blue" and looked at all the images for ideas. Then, I found my inspiration - a pair of cute flats from Old Navy!!

Aren't those stinkin' cute!? The Lacy Scrolls stamp set from Altenew is the perfect set to accomplish this look. And I would not have been able to do this without my MISTI (Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented)! The name says it all!

Thanks for visiting. Please visit the other blogs. The hop starts at Vernonica's blog here.

Paper Sweeties May Inspiration Challenge #31 - 'Celebrate Mom'

April showers bring May flowers! May also brings Mother's Day! The Paper Sweeties May challenge starts today, and we're celebrating Mom.

What better way to honor her than with a card adorned with some of those gorgeous May flowers!?!

I used stamps and dies from a couple different sets for this card. Believe it or not, the flower "pot" is actually a cupcake from the Sending Sweet Thought set! I thought the flower pot in the inspiration photo looked a lot like a cupcake wrapper, so I went with it and it worked! The tiny little flowers are also from this set; however, the big, bright roses are from Pretty Posies. I also used sequins from the Sweetheart Mix.

I colored all the flowers with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamsol Oil. A doily, patterned paper from Amy Tangerine, a wooden bird from Studio Calico and some alphabet stickers also make up this card.
Please visit the other designer's blogs. The more blogs you visit, the more ideas and inspiration you'll have when you make your card for the challenge!!
