An Experiment in One Layer

Yesterday, Pink by Design had a day long party on their blog, where craft warriors could complete up to 13 challenges! I'm so impressed with those who completed all of them. I wish I could say I was one of them, but I couldn't do it. Maybe one day when my kids get a little older I'll have more time. I did, however, manage to make a couple cards. Though I wasn't able to complete one of them before the deadline I liked where I was going with it. I decided to redo do the card and take as much time as I needed. since I didn't have a deadline looming. I'm happy with it. Here it is:

The card uses stamps for two Pink by Design sets - Radioactive and Mad Scientist sets designed by my fellow teamie Lisa Norris. I colored the vials with Copics, added some gems and washi tape (of course, because I'm totally addicted to washi tape right now!)

Pink by Design Annivesary Hop

Wow! What a week I've had. This week I had the honor of teaching 30-some children about Jesus during my church's Vacation Bible School. In fact, some of you may notice that my post is a little late for the hop. I've been preparing lessons for the kids and practicing every night. In fact, the card I made is inspired by each and every child I taught this week. God loves every single one of them. He knows them all. They are all stars in God's eyes and He knows them by name.

Today was the last day of VBS, and I am honored to have been able to share the Good News with them. I pray that it touched their lives, because they have touched mine. I dedicate this card to every child out there, because God loves them all.

I used the stamp set Pray to create this card. It seemed so appropriate and timely. The set is filled with encouraging sentiments about prayer and blessings.

Happy anniversary to Pink by Design. I'm so honored to design for them

If you're here for the hop, your next stop is Kathy. If you arrived in another way, please join us in celebrating Pink by Design's second anniversary. Here is the lineup.

Thank You in Summer Citrus

Hello. My name is Annette Witherspoon and I'm addicted to washi tape. LOL! Seriously, I love it. Below is a card that uses, stamping and washi tape. In fact I stamped ON the washi tape with good 'ole Staz-on ink.

I'm entering this into two challenges. This bright summery card fits into the Stampendous citrus challenge. The sentiment is from the Stampendous Perfectly Clear line. It's called Happy Messages. I'm also entering it to the Moxie Fab World Stamp It! Cards Thank You challenge.

Ink it Pink Wobbler Card w/ Tutorial

Hello everyone! Today I have a special treat for you. I'm hosting this week's Ink it Pink challenge at Pink by Design, where I made this card for inspiration. The challenge is to use a ribbon in your project. Not only did I add ribbon, but I made this a wobbler card. You know, the latest new gadget that's a spring with sticky adhesive on each end. I thought it would be fun to make the potion wobble back and forth as if it was being shaken.

I'm also entering this into the Moxie Fab World Stamp It! Love Cards challenge.

I didn't have an Action Wobbler on hand, so I made one. I'm going to show you how to do it using supplies you probably already have on hand.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Heavy cardstock (scraps are perfect!)
  • Small circle punch
  • Exacto Knife or scissors
  • Light gage wire (Tip: The higher the number, the thinner the wire. Likewise, the lower the number, the thicker the wire. I used a 32-gage wire in this tutorial.)
  • Redline tape or foam mounting tape
  • Pencil or wire coiling pliers.
  • Wire cutters or heavy duty scissors.
Step 1 - Cut two circles from heavy card stock using a small circle punch.

Step 2 - Cut a slit starting from the center and going outward. Do this to both circles.

Step 3 - Wrap the wire around coiling pliers or a simple pencil will do just fine, too, including a Lightning McQueen mechanical pencil you stole from your son's stash. LOL! I wrapped it around five times.

Step 4 - Insert the coil into the slit of the punched circle, leaving only one coil on the outside.

Step 5 - Adhere redline tape or mounting tape on the outside.

Step 6 - Snip off the edges of the tape.

Step 7 - Repeat steps 4-6 on the other side. Your finished wobbler will look like this:

You're probably wondering "That's great and all, but does it wobble?" Well, see for yourself.

Frosted Designs Card Sketch 22

Hi all. Today I have a quick post for the Frosted Designs sketch challenge. This card was so easy to make, I almost feel like I cheated!! (Don't worry, I didn't cheat.) I simply cut a banner from Stampin' Up! Circus paper and adhered the medallion I bought on clearance a while ago. Then I took my white gel pen and drew stitching around the banner. That's it. Told you it was easy.

You can get in on some of this easy card-making stuff, too. Just enter this week's Frosted Designs card sketch challenge!!
