Paper Sweeties July Release Rewind!

By now you've seen the releases. Aren't they adorable? Today is rewind day when we pair stamps from the new releases with some existing sets. I paired the new Sweeties Pets set with the Sorry You're Sick and Feel Better Soon sets, which were released in May.

Usually when I make a card for a release, I don't have a recipient in mind. They go in my stash for future use. However, this card was made for my neighbor. She has an adorable little Yorkie with a humorous name - Killer. Poor Killer has been ill and in the doggy hospital.  I made this for her. Although the dog stamp isn't a Yorkie, I colored it to look like Killer. I hope it brings her some comfort.

See how the other talented designers paired the new sets with existing ones:

Paper Sweeties July Release Party!

You've seen the sneak peeks. Now it's time for the big reveal. The Paper Sweeties July releases are in the store available for purchase!! You will love the two new sets and Sweet Cuts.

I used the Sweet Cuts in the project I made below. The dies coordinate with the Home Tweet Home stamp set. If you're lucky enough to have the set, now you can get dies to go with it! If you don't have the set, don't worry. Some of the dies can stand on their own.

For example, in the tag below, I used two of the dies to create the fence and the sun. I also used the Pets set. I have a six-year-old daughter who loves Littlest Pet Shop. The pets in the show are fun, nontraditional colors. I decided to try coloring these guys in some whimsical hues and I really like how they look.

Paper Sweeties July Release Sneak Peeks!

Ready for some four-legged fun!? One of the Paper Sweeties new releases includes a set with an adorable cat and dog! Here is a sneak.

I made this card a couple days after going to Kings Island. For those of you who've never heard of it, King's Island is an amusement park just north of Cincinnati, Ohio. The children's area is called Planet Snoopy and includes rides with Peanuts-themed characters. Here is my daughter, Elise, posing with Charlie Brown's little sister, Sally.

Naturally, when I started working with this set, Snoopy was top of mind! After stamping, coloring and cutting out the dog and his house, I perched him on top of the roof, just like Charlie's mischievous canine. I think he likes it up there.

Shakin' It Up with the SSS Wednesday Challenge

I made a card for Independence Day. I made the card yesterday, which was Independence Day. I took a picture of it yesterday. Ya know - on Independence Day. Then, I went out and celebrated Independence Day. It was awesome. So much so, that by the time I got home from picnicking and fireworks watching, it was late.

So here I am on July 5 posting a card celebrating July 4, but since I made it and photographed it on July 4, I think it's okay to post it, right? LOL! I mean, it's not like there will never be another July 4 again.

Besides, this card serves another purpose. I'm entering it into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme is Shake It - create a shaker/confetti packet in your project. I love shaker cards and as it happens, I had some left over confetti from another craft.

See the heart-shaped plastic holding the confetti? That is actually packaging I saved from some buttons I purchased. I saved the packaging thinking I might use it on a card one day. Looks like the day has come!

Unfortunately, I didn't have any SSS stamps that were appropriate for the patriotic theme. Instead, I used Paper Smooches stamps, which you can purchase at Simon Says Stamp.

Hope you had a great July 4th yesterday and I hope you have a great week ahead of you!

Paper Sweeties July Inspiration Challenge #21 - 'Patriotic Prints'

I can't believe it's July already. Summer is rolling by so quickly. In four short days, we celebrate Independence Day in the United States.

This month's inspiration photo is very fitting for the upcoming holiday. If you want to win some Paper Sweeties goodies, create a project inspired by the title, color combo or photo and link your post to the Paper Sweeties blog. The winner gets a gift certificate to the Paper Sweeties store.

As you can see, I was inspired by the photo. I incorporated the small red flowers, red and white polka dots, and the blue and white gingham fabric into my design. This card can be used for July 4th or as a birthday card!

Hop along and see what my design team mates created. When you're finished, create your own project based on the inspiration photo and link it to the Paper Sweeties Blog!
