Chevrons, Chevrons, Chevrons

Chevrons are so hot right now. In fact, they've been hot for a while now. You see them everywhere. Clothes, accessories (think purses, iPhone cases, scarves) and home decor. When Cath introduced the Chevron Challenge over at Moxie Fab World, I decided if I was going to enter, I had to concoct something unique and make the chevrons the star of the show.

Here is what I created. Did I succeed? The chevrons use bright colors against a black background. You'll see that I used a dark and light shade for the chevron, which gives it more depth. It looks almost 3D. I cut these babies out with my Silhoutte Cameo. Love that machine. I love to create my own designs with it - including this design.

I always feel like a card has to have a sentiment, so I stamped Happy Birthday under the chevron design. The design will work with any generic sentiment like Thank You, Congratulations, Hello, etc. I chose Happy Birthday because I can always use a birthday card!

I repeated the same color sequence as the chevrons (pink, yellow, blue) with the little gems under the sentiment. Voila! That's it.

Thanks for looking and have a great day! Oh, and if you want to enter the challenge, there is plenty of time. The deadline isn't until April 1.
