It's OWL Good

Don't you love it when a plan comes together? Or, in this case, when something unplanned comes together!?! I bought the cute owl digital cut files from the Silhouette store a couple months ago. I printed and cut a bunch out after I got the file, but didn't have a use for them at the time. My poor little owls were laying around waiting - no begging - to be used. The sentiment is something I picked up at the Michael's dollar bin several months ago. Then, to complete the picture, I recently bought the Unity wood grain background stamp. It all came together so nicely! Aren't the owls so cute peeking out of the tree hole? Love these owls!

North Woods

I made this for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast featuring WallTAT, a company that sells really funky wall decals. My card was inspired by this decal, called North Woods. I found these images of trees, loaded them into my Silhouette and auto traced the images to create a print and cut file. (PNC for those of you who speak the Silhouette lingo (-:  )

Inspired by a Dress

Have you ever looked at something and thought "That would make a great card?" If you're a card crafter, then the answer is YES! This card was inspired by a dress worn by a young lady who goes to my church. She also occasionally sits for my kids. She had a really adorable black and white dress with a geometric pattern and a bright pink bow. I knew it would be a great card as soon as I saw it.

The background is not designer paper. It's actually a pattern I created and cut from my Silhouette machine. It wasn't easy and weeding out all the little cut out pieces was tedious and time-consuming, but I'm really happy with the result.

Two More Silhouette Files

I just uploaded the file I created for the card with the little boy with his hands outreached. I also made a little girl with her hands reaching out. Enjoy!! I would enjoy seeing your creations with the files I posted. Feel free to share!

How Many Fingers Are You?

I made this little guy today completely from scratch! I'm happy with the way he turned out. I submitted it to the Splitcoast Free 4 All challenge to make a birthday card for a kid. Fortunately for me, my nephew's birthday party is tomorrow, so I get to give it to him right away. So many of my cards sit around for awhile before someone gets to enjoy them.

The cut file of the boy will be available on my blog, but it's 2 a.m. right now and I'm really tired, so I'll post the cut file either Saturday or Sunday.

Free Silhouette Studio Files Available!!

I am very happy to announce that some of the Silhouette Studio cut files I've created are now available for you to download from my blog -- absolutely free! I really want to make my blog more interesting and useful to readers, so I thought "Why not offer them something for free?!?" Voila! I figured out how to load my cut files to Google docs and then link it to my blog.

Right now I only have Silhouette Studio files available. If you use the Cricut or any other kind of digital cutter, my hope is to eventually make files available in other formats.

I will occasionally add more cut files as I make them. I would like to invite all of you who download my files to become a follower on my blog. Just click the Follow button on the right. By becoming a follower, you'll get updates on new posts, including the latest free files.

I hope you enjoy these files and I would love to see some of your creations from them!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I made this banner today for my family! I used my Silhouette to cut out the hearts and letters. Then stuck the letters using dimensional stickers and strung them with a ribbon. Everyone loved it!

Alphabet Love

I saw some wall art at Target and thought it would make a great card! Then, the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast featured a stamper who had an alphabet card and I decided this card needed to be made!! I gave it to my DH for Valentine's Day today!!

Update 2/18 - I have added the Silhouette file for this card. On the right of my blog, you'll see a header called Free Silhouette Files. Click on the I ❤ U Alphabet Card link and it will take you to a Google Docs page with the file. This file only works with Silhouette Studio. I hope you enjoy it!!

Fur Elise

Most of my cards are pretty girly, but this one is a little over the top. I don't normally use images of people in my cards, but it's for an SCS challenge in which you make a card based on the work of another stamper. I chose this card as my inspiration.

Elise (my 2.5 year old daughter) loves everything ballet, including tutus, music and Angelina Ballerina. I decided to make a ballerina card in her honor. Thus, the name "Fur Elise."

Uncommonly Shabby Chic

This card, for the SCS inspiration challenge, was inspired by a pillow from Uncommon Goods. It's a fun site with lots of unique items. I almost bought the desktop dodgeball game. It's hilarious!
