A Blessing

I have so many blessing to count. One of which is my DH. I think I'm going to give this to him. Hopefully, he doesn't read this before he gets the card!! Maybe I'd better give it to him soon. :-)

This card is for another challenge on SCS. I drew my inspiration from this card. The mums reminded me of another stamp set I have called Spot Dots, which is my favorite stamp set. I love these stamps!!

Nested Hearts

Finally, I made a card that is NOT for a challenge. I had the idea to create a card with some hearts nested inside. I used my Silhouette machine (which I love) to cut three hearts out of some designer paper. The hearts inside are the same hearts cut out of the paper. I turned them over and used the back side. (It was double sided paper.) I think it turned out pretty well.

Howza 'bout a kiss?

Today's card is inspired by Emily Leiphart (a.k.a. artsy-em on Splitcoast). She has some really cute cards with adorable monsters on them. I chose this card as my inspiration. I found the image on the computer. It's actually a coloring page. I converted it to a .jpg, loaded it in my Silhouette digital cutting machine, printed it and then cut it. Afterward, I colored her with Prismacolor colored pencils and blended with Gamsol oil. Isn't she just lovely?!? Ha ha ha! I created the sentiment on my computer and printed it on kraft cardstock. Mine has a Valentine's Day flare. I think this is one of my favorites.

Tribute to Lucy and Ethel

One of my favorite challenges to do is the inspiration challenge. The challenge host picks a web site and the card crafters create cards inspired by a product on the site. Today's challenge was to create a card inspired by Barbie. I'm not a big fan of Barbie, but fortunately, the site had dolls of other characters ... including Lucy and Ethel dressed in the pink and gray outfits they wore in the classic episode "Job Switching." If you've ever watched "I Love Lucy" then you know the episode. It's the one where Lucy and Ethel work in a chocolate factory. It cracks me up just thinking about it. Here are the dolls that inspired the card below.

Goodnight Moon

Yet another challenge card. This time, the challenge was to make a gradient card. I wish I had a really good reason for choosing blue, but the truth is, I had three shades of blue that worked nicely for the gradient technique. After I finished, it reminded me of a night sky, so I named Goodnight Moon in honor of my daugher Elise's favorite bedtime story. :-) The bottom photo is a close up of the image so you can see the gradation of colors.

Love Love Love!!

I just love those challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. This time, the challenge was to create a card inspired by this card. Below is my version.

Valentine's Day is Around the Corner

Hello everyone! Now that Christmas is over, the next card-giving holiday is Valentine's Day. Below is one of my first love-themed cards of the year. I made this for a challenge on Splitcoaststampers in which we create a card drawing inspiration from another stamper. My card is inspired by THIS card, but with a Valentine's Day spin. I hope you enjoy it! :-)

Nuts 4 U

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. My DH got me a Silhouette digital cutter. Yay!! Below is a card I made using my new toy. I entered into a challenge to make a card inspired by something from Stephen Joseph Gifts. Below is the card. Isn't he cute?

Updated 2/18 - I have made the cut file for the robot and nuts available. On the right of the blog, click on Robots and Nuts under the Free Silhouette Cut Files. The link will take you to a Google docs page where you can download the file. You must have Silhouette Studio to open the file. I hope you enjoy it!
